STEEL TYPES / DIRECTORY
Steel Types
Find steel references by product form, material family, coating and process. See how these classifications combine in one steel specification.
A steel product can belong to several groups at once. Form describes its shape, material its alloy family, process its manufacturing route, and coating its surface system.
| Dimension | Prepainted galvanized cold-rolled carbon steel coil |
|---|---|
| Form | Coil — continuous strip supplied wound. |
| Material | Carbon steel — the base-material family. |
| Process | Cold rolled — reduction route, with the final condition specified. |
| Coating / surface | Galvanized + prepainted — metallic zinc beneath the paint system. |
