Information needed for a correction
Record the page URL, disputed wording or value, material, units and supporting source. Include the source edition or date where it affects the interpretation. The contact page records the status of submission channels.
Recording a material change
Check the evidence, then record the previous value, corrected value, reason, source and correction date beside the affected reference or in its source record. Update the page date when the change affects its text, data, sources or function. Rebuilding the site does not make historical data current.
Documented gauge discrepancies
The gauge chart records the legacy 4 gauge inch/mm conflict and the withheld 38 gauge standard-steel value. Its CSV preserves the corresponding notes. These are documented decisions about those values, not certification of the entire historical table.
